Episode #84 Using the Right Voice Element to Get Results

Episode #84 Using the Right Voice Element to Get Results

Welcome to the podcast!

I’m really glad your with me today because today’s topic is going to help catapult you to the next level.

We make voice choices and most of the ones we make are laid into our muscle memory from our voice story.  Often times we try to think our way into a more captivating voice but the truth is, what’s in the top layer of the muscle memory is what is going to deliver.  It’s essential to lay in a new top layer.

But, there is even more to this.  We have been led to believe someone along the way that certain voice choices are going to get us certain results.  In today’s episode, I’m going to dispell that myth!  There are push voice elements and pull voice elements and we need all of them.  We also need to use all elements of vocal variety so that we can really take our audience on a voice journey and touch them at their emotional core.

I’m covering all of this in today’s episode!

Episode #82 Stop Relying on Speed to Keep Our Attention

Episode #82 Stop Relying on Speed to Keep Our Attention

Welcome to the show!

Today we are talking about a topic that I deal with on a regular basis and something that I hear people mention a lot! “I go fast so I can keep my audience’s attention.”

Well, here’s the truth…that will never work.  The very thing you are trying to achieve can never happen if you rely on the voice element of speed.

Speed is a wonderful tool, used sparingly but what keeps our attention is being captivated.  So, how do you captivate?  Well, you use all elements of variety, all five of them and you take us on a voice journey.  You become unpredictable.  By using just one vocal variety element you are predictable.

When you make that one choice and it’s speed, you are adding more to the mix.  When you go fast, we can’t always follow you, in fact, more than not we can’t follow you.  Remember, we don’t know what you know.  By using speed, you are giving us permission to check out.

I think you’ll love this episode and I have no doubt benefit from it!

Episode #81 Your Voice is Key to Your Sales Success

Episode #81 Your Voice is Key to Your Sales Success

Welcome to the show!

Today’s episode is very important because it’s about your voice and selling and I mean, who doesn’t sell at some point?

Now you may not sell a product or service but you still have to sell yourself on occasion.

What far too many people don’t realize is that the voice is instrumental in sales success.

Part of the power of voice in selling is in persuasion but the voice also plays a key role in creating connections which are essential to that know, like and trust factor that precedes selling.  But the voice is also the instrument that has the ability to make me feel, to touch my emotions.  If you want people to buy what your selling or take an action you want them to take, it’s essential to compel them and that is the voice’s job.

In today’s episode, I talk about key ways your voice plays an integral role in your selling success and give a few techniques and tips for what you must have in your voice to increase your sales success.

Episode #74 Captivate the Room w/ Bold Voice Choices

Episode #74 Captivate the Room w/ Bold Voice Choices

Welcome to the show!

I’m really excited about today’s episode because it’s all about pushing you out of your voice box (no pun intended) and into bold choices.

So many times people come to me and they say, “I don’t sound captivating”.  I hear you!

What we work on is getting out of the small and limiting voice box they are working in because of fear or their psychology of the voice story or even their perception.  People also work in this box because of perfectionism and wanting to get the words just right, in fact relying on the words can cause this to happen as well.

If we want to captivate the audience we have to learn to make bold choices and commit to them!

In this episode, I’ll talk about bold choices,

What they are,

How to make them and how to commit to them.

Once you commit to choices that are bold, exciting and outside of the box your world will begin to change!

Episode #73 The Sounds We Hear Are Hurting Your Success

Episode #73 The Sounds We Hear Are Hurting Your Success

Episode #73 The Sounds We Hear Are Hurting Your Success

That’s right, that’s what I said.  Welcome to the show!

I’m glad you are here because I want to share with you the difference between what you think you are putting out and how it’s being received.

In your head, you may sound great or maybe you know you aren’t sounding as great as you could.  But, did you know that different sounds can actually give entirely different meanings?

In today’s episode, I’m going to give you some information that will really inspire you to take action on these things you are learning here with me.  Because, the very sound that you are delivering, the sound that is laid into your psychology of the voice, is hurting your business because it’s saying things to the customer that are not true or might not be true.

Example:  if you are quiet, you have no passion.  Well, I don’t know about you but I’ve known plenty of passionate people that are quiet, but the customer could easily think you aren’t passionate enough about your work to take on their job.

The voice is the tool, like we talked about last week, that will make us feel something.  I usually talk about the good it makes us feel but this is not so good.

I think you will really love this episode.

Also, don’t forget, if you haven’t signed up for the podcast voice challenge it starts next week.  You can sign up right here:  http://new.captivatetheroom.com/5-day-challenge-captivate-w-your-voice-in-a-podcast/

Look forward to seeing you in the challenge!  And hey, even if you aren’t planning on having a podcast, the voice technique I’m teaching is pretty cool and will work anywhere.
